I believe the population is ready for a 24/7 type of consensual pvp that actually matters. My only selfish desire is for Outlands to bring Factions back in some form. I felt at the end of this episode I had a firm grasp on WHY certain things are coded in this way. I really tried to hold his feet to the fire and really understand why certain mechanics are the way they are. I believe this is a very open and honest conversation about Outlands and some of the popular and perhaps unpopular changes that have occurred. I think sometimes people even get used to the extreme level of detail done to most systems and how complex it is to remake them. The polish and thoughtfulness behind some of his creations are second to none. While freeshards may come and go I am absolutely certain this is the best coder we have ever seen for Ultima Online. In this special two part series I sit down with Luthius of UO Outlands. I really hope to do more of these fun type of conversations so please enjoy! A hardcore gamer that at heart is just like you and I. During this chat it is so clear in my mind that Luthius is just as a big nerd as any of us are. While no one or anything is perfect we have to extend some grace sometimes. I think it's important to remember developers are human beings. In this episode I sit back down with Luthius and talk about his gaming background that many do not see. I hope this sheds some light onto what content creators go through behind the scenes and how sometimes going "viral" happens from the video you never plan! I appreciate his dedication to UO and I know he exposed this game again to millions of eyeballs which to the community at whole is priceless. This episode is interesting as I did not give show notes like I normally do so this whole conversation is very organic. In this episode I sit down with a man that went viral playing the the game we all love. My eBay store, where I sometimes list old Origin stuff Billy Joe turns about to be a great human being and an excellent story teller! Please check out the video format that will be available shortly after this! In this format I literally hit record and just had a conversation. While on the other side we may have seen unbelievable cult classic titles the insides were not always so perfect. This is one of the most revealing conversations I have had to full understand the underbelly of Origin. Wild Bills has been an amazing sponsor and I appreciate you supporting them and me! My take is as long as people are playing some sort of UO it is a huge win. I sincerely hope and wish for 2023 UO players become more unified in the goal of expanding no matter what shard whether free or official. A huge thank you to John-Clark for giving this game and its genius design a platform. I will share this article once written in my discord and social media platforms as I am chomping at the bit to read it. I think trying to fit all of who he is interviewing into a written article seems like a arduous task that I cannot imagine! I hope however the insight I gave and even showing him in game footage helps this article last another 25 years as UO has. John-Clark clearly did exhaustive research on UO and his questions really had me thinking. He got to see an active guild, a hunt, historical houses and some priceless interactions. I really wanted John-Clark to get a sense of understand on what this game is current day. Please share your feedback on what you thought. It has keyboard noise, in game noise and a host of other things that are very different from the normal format. I was honored and humbled by this request and here is the raw audio file of our conversation. I was approached by John-Clark to help him on his quest to write a piece about Ultima Online.
